Description
Prospect House is a house dated 1757, located on the south side of High Street in Yardley Gobion. It is constructed of limestone ashlar with a slate roof and brick end stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring a three-window range and a two-unit plan. The central entrance consists of a flat-arched six-panel door with an overlight and a plain shell hood supported by brackets, accessed by eight ironstone steps. The ground and first floors have 16-pane sash windows with segmental-arched stone heads. Notable architectural details include a plinth, moulded wood eaves, and stone-coped gables with kneelers. A datestone inscribed "TH/1757" is located to the right of the central first-floor window. At the rear, there is a thatched wing. Inside, the house features ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams, stone-flagged floors, a stone cellar, and a collar truss roof.
