Description
Myrtle Cottage is a house built in 1759, as indicated by the datestone. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone with ashlar dressings and has a Stonesfield-slate roof with brick gable stacks. The building features a three-unit plan with a mix of two storeys and one storey. The main front has a regular arrangement of three windows and includes a stone-architraved six-panel door located in a glazed porch to the right of centre. Both floors have three small 12-pane sash windows, which are framed by wide plain architraves and have projecting keyblocks. The architraves of the upper windows extend below a sill band. The datestone above the doorway reads "MY/1759". There is a remodelled single-storey bay to the right, which is part of an earlier structure. The rear of the main range features a full-height projection. The interior has not been inspected.
