Description
Eastleigh House is a house that likely dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with remodels from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, featuring some squared dressings and wooden lintels, with a Stonesfield-slate roof and brick gable stacks. The building is arranged in an L-plan with a subsidiary wing and has two storeys plus an attic.
The main front has three windows, with a central six-panel door flanked by 12-pane sash windows. On the first floor, there are 9-pane sashes beside a blind window. The roof has stone gable parapets on the front slope, supported by projecting kneelers. The lower range to the left includes irregular casements and three gabled 20th-century dormers. The rear wing, which extends from the right side of the main range, has casements with stop-chamfered lintels and features a "Phoenix" fire insurance plaque. The rear of the lower wing includes additional dormers and more stop-chamfered lintels.
Inside, the house contains late 18th-century to early 19th-century fireplaces, architraves, cornices, and a staircase, along with two internal doors that have fanlights.
