Description
Manor Farmhouse, now a house, was originally built in the early to mid 17th century, with additions made in 1907. The farmhouse is constructed from limestone rubble with wooden lintels, and has a roof covered with Welsh slate and Stonesfield slate, featuring brick stacks to both gables and to the right of the central passage. It follows a 3-unit through-passage plan, with a rear wing. The two-storey, four-window front has an entrance positioned to the left of centre. The two bays on the right have 2-light and 3-light casement windows respectively, while the left bay has a large 4-light casement window. All first-floor windows are 2-light casements. A rear wing, continuing to the left and in a similar style, incorporates a datestone inscribed "GJED/1907," indicating the 1907 alterations, although the wing is partly of earlier construction. The rear of the main range includes an outshut which now serves as the main entrance. Inside, you can see stop-chamfered joists and spine beams, alongside an open fireplace backing onto the passage.
