Description
West View is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone with some wooden lintels and features a concrete plain-tile roof with brick stacks. The building has a 3-unit plan and stands two storeys plus an attic. The front has four windows, with the three bays to the right being slightly earlier. There is a wide two-panel door to the right of centre, which is topped by a large tiled canopy. The windows between the door are two-light small-pane casements, and all openings have ashlar flat arches. The first-floor windows and both windows of the added bay to the left have three-light casements and wooden lintels. The roof includes three gabled 20th-century roof dormers, gable parapets with moulded kneelers, and stacks flanking both sections. The interior has not been inspected.
