Description
The Old Vicarage is a house that was originally built as a vicarage in the late 18th century or early 19th century, with an extension added in the mid-19th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and features old plain-tile and Welsh-slate roofs with brick stacks. The building has a central-stair plan and is two storeys high. The front facade, which is symmetrical and has three windows from the earliest section, includes 12-pane sash windows set beneath ashlar flat arches, and a central doorway that is recessed into a shallow semi-circular arch. An added bay to the right has a similar sash window on the first floor. The rear of the building has parallel wings with large windows, shallow gable parapets, and is dated 1862. The interior has not been inspected. The building was replaced as the vicarage in 1840.
