Description
The Brewery House is a house dated 1759 and 1760, located on Old Harrington Road. It is constructed of squared coursed lias with ashlar dressings and features a 20th-century plain tiled roof. The building has an L-shaped plan and consists of two storeys with an attic. The main front includes one wing with a two-window range and another wing at right angles with a one-window range. The entrance, located to the left, has a 19th-century six-panelled door with a reeded doorcase and a leaded fanlight above a 20th-century porch. The windows are early 20th-century casements set in original openings, featuring flat arch ashlar heads and keystones. There is an ashlar string course and a moulded cornice, along with ashlar gable parapets, kneelers, and ashlar stacks at the ridge and end. The house has 20th-century roof dormers and 19th and 20th-century extensions on both sides. An attached mounting block is located next to the right gable, and datestones are present in the left and right gables. Inside, there is a staircase with quarter landings and a turned balustrade, which is probably from the late 18th century.
