Description
Spring Cottage and Clives End are two houses that were originally three, dating from the early 18th century and featuring some alterations. The buildings are constructed of squared coursed lias stone and topped with a slate roof. They were originally designed as one-unit cottages and are two storeys high, together forming a four-window range of casements set under wooden lintels. The windows at Clives End are from the 19th century, while the others are from the 20th century. There are three doors positioned between the windows, one of which is a 19th-century six-panelled door. The gable parapets are made of ashlar and include kneelers, with brick stacks located at the ridge and ends of the buildings. Inside Clives End, there are remnants of an open fireplace featuring a chamfered bressumer above it and a bread oven to the left, along with chamfered ceiling beams.
