Description
Dial House, also known as Charles Close House, is a building dating from 1715, with 19th-century alterations. It is constructed of squared coursed lias and features a corrugated iron roof. The building has a four-unit plan and is a single storey with an attic. The ground floor consists of a four-window range, including three casements with wooden lintels and glazing bars, and one sash window on the right, which has an ashlar surround. There is one dormer with a casement window at the first floor. The steep gabled roof has gable parapets and kneelers, with brick stacks located at the ridge and the end. The right gable features two 19th-century sash windows with an ashlar surround, along with a datestone and the remains of a sundial above. The entrance is located at the rear and has a plank door. The interior has not been inspected, but it likely includes an open fireplace.
