Description
The K6 telephone kiosk is a standardised design made of cast iron and painted red overall. It features long horizontal glazing in the door and sides, with crowns applied to the top panels rather than perforated. The kiosk has rectangular white display signs that read "TELEPHONE" beneath a shallow-curved roof. Inside, it has modernised equipment, but the structure is intact and retains its glass windows. At the time of the survey in 2016, the exterior paint was faded.
This kiosk is prominently located on a main road through the village, next to the village notice board, bus shelter, and post box, which are all unlisted. It is directly opposite The Old Rectory, a Grade II listed building, about 20 metres to the east, and close to the War Memorial, also listed at Grade II, approximately 40 metres to the north-east. Additionally, it is within sight of the Church of St Andrew, a Grade I listed building, located 100 metres to the south-west. The telephone kiosk has a strong visual connection with these three listed buildings. The modern telecommunications equipment inside the K6 is not considered to have special architectural or historic interest.
