Description

The School House is a mid-18th century house located on the north side of Old Church Lane. It is constructed of squared, coursed lias stone and has a 20th-century plain tile roof. The building follows a two-unit plan and has a three-window front. A central 19th-century four-panelled door is set beneath a wooden lintel. A 19th-century casement window is located to the right of the door, and the first floor features casements with leaded lights, also under wooden lintels. The gables have ashlar parapets and kneelers, and brick stacks are present at the ends. Remains of datestones, now illegible, are visible on the right gable. The house originally served as the schoolmaster's residence.
