Description

Wold Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the late 17th century and was remodelled, with a datestone indicating 1758. It is constructed from squared coursed lias with ashlar dressings and has a slate roof. The building has an L-shaped plan and is two storeys high with an attic. The main front features a three-window range of 19th-century tripartite sashes in their original openings, which are topped with flat arch heads that have keystones. The central sash is plain, and there is a central 19th-century panelled door with a moulded wood surround and an early 20th-century porch. The exterior includes an ashlar string course and a moulded stone cornice, along with ashlar gable parapets and kneelers. There are also ashlar stacks at the ridge and ends, and a datestone is located in the left gable. The rear gable has an arch-headed window.

Inside, there is an early 19th-century fireplace surround in the room to the left of the entrance, featuring deep flanking openings. The same room and the entrance hall have late 18th-century dado panelling. An early 19th-century staircase is present, and the first-floor rooms contain early 19th-century fireplaces with cast iron fire baskets. All ground floor rooms feature chamfered ceiling beams, and the dining room in the rear wing, which is likely from the late 17th century, has an open fireplace with a bressumer.
