Description
No. 7 Lower Street is a house dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of regularly coursed limestone and lias, topped with a 19th-century pantile roof. The building originally had a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high. The front features a two-window range with 19th and 20th-century casement windows set under wooden lintels. There is a central 20th-century door located in a lean-to porch. The house has a central brick chimney stack and ashlar gable parapets with kneelers, along with the base of a finial at the apex. To the left, there is a 19th-century single-storey extension that is a single unit. The ground floor windows at the rear have moulded stone surrounds. Inside, there are remnants of two open fireplaces with bressumers, as well as stop-chamfered spine beams and joists. The original roof structure is still intact.
