Description
Grove Farmhouse, now a house, likely dates from the late 17th century, with alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries. The house is constructed of squared coursed lias and ironstone, and regular coursed limestone, with a pantile and slate roof. It has a T-shaped plan. The front elevation has two windows, featuring early 20th-century casement windows beneath concrete lintels, with a central 20th-century door under a stone lintel. Ashlar gable parapets are present, along with brick and stone stacks at the ends. There is evidence of replacement windows to the right, and an illegible tablet above the entrance. Attached to the right are two-storey limestone outbuildings, some with a catslide roof. A cross-wing to the left includes a two-storey range of barns with casement windows and plank stable doors, all under wooden lintels, with one window being a horizontal leaded sash. A roofed carriage arch is attached at right angles, with a barn adjoining it to the left, featuring a central cart entrance. Further stables are attached at right angles to the far left, and all the buildings form a courtyard. The interior has not been inspected.
