Description
No. 1 Church Lane is a house dating from the late 17th century. It is built of regularly coursed limestone and ironstone with a concrete tile roof. The original layout features a two-unit plan and the house stands two storeys high. The ground floor has a two-window range, while the first floor has one window, all of which are casements with glazing bars set under wooden lintels. The gable ends are finished with ashlar parapets and kneelers, with a brick stack at the right end. The left gable features a three-light stone-mullioned window, and the rear of the house has a two-light stone-mullioned window. There is a 20th-century door under a wooden lintel at the rear, along with a 20th-century extension. Inside, the house includes an open fireplace with a bressumer and a stop-chamfered spine beam.
