Description

No. 38 is a house located on Main Road, dating from the late 17th century. It is built of squared coursed limestone and has a 20th-century concrete tile roof. The house originally had a three-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic. The front features a five-window range of 20th-century casements with glazing bars, set in original openings beneath gauged stone heads with keyblocks. There is a central 20th-century door also under a gauged stone head with a keyblock. The gable ends have ashlar parapets and kneelers, along with brick and stone stacks at the ridge and ends. There are 19th-century extensions at the rear. Inside, the house includes an open fireplace with a bressumer.
