Description
No. 22 Church Street is a house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone and features a ridged tile roof with brick end stacks. The house is designed as a two-unit lobby-entry structure, standing two storeys high with an attic and a three-window range. A part-glazed door from the 20th century is located on the far right, topped with a wood lintel. The ground floor has tripartite sash windows from the 19th century, while the first floor features two-light casement windows, all with wood lintels. The exterior includes a rendered plinth, ironstone quoins, some bands of ironstone, and brick-coped gables. Inside, the property has ogee-stop-chamfered spine beams. The roof contains one original truss with clasped principals and two collars, and the house was formerly thatched.
