Description
Manor Cottage is a house dated 1743, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone and features a 20th-century ridged tile roof with brick stacks at each end. The building has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, presenting a three-window range. To the right of the centre, there is a part-glazed 19th-century door framed with pegged wood, topped with a flat-arched head and a 20th-century gabled porch. The cottage has 2-light casement windows on both the ground and first floors, all with similar heads. Above the door, there is a datestone that reads R/TF/1743. The exterior includes a rendered plinth, quoins, and stone-coped gables with kneelers. Inside, there is an open fireplace with a bressumer and stop-chamfered spine beams. The roof is a three-bay structure with clasped principals and collars, and it was formerly thatched.
