Description
Rubena Cottage is a house dating from the early 19th century, located on Dolphin Street in Port Isaac. The building is constructed of stone rubble, with the right-hand side elevation partly painted. It features an asbestos slate roof with hipped ends and a brick axial chimney stack. The layout likely consists of a three-room plan, with the central room heated by the chimney stack, a passage behind it, and an additional room in a projecting wing at the rear right. The ground rises steeply to the left of the property.
The cottage is two storeys high and presents an asymmetrical front with three windows. The ground floor includes dressed stone segmental arches, with a 19th-century 16-pane hornless sash window, a 19th-century 16-pane horned sash window, and a timber gabled open porch that has a 20th-century door, alongside another 19th-century 16-pane hornless sash window to the right. On the first floor, there are two 19th-century 16-pane hornless sashes and a central replacement four-pane sash window. The interior has not been inspected.
