Description
Dolphin House is a house dating from around the mid 18th century, located on the south side of Dolphin Street in Port Isaac. It is constructed of stone rubble with brick segmental arches over the openings. The slate roof has hipped ends, and there is a brick chimney stack on the right-hand hipped end.
The house is two storeys high with an attic and features an almost symmetrical three-window front. On the ground floor, there is a 20th-century door with a pediment in the center, a 19th-century 30-pane hornless sash window to the left, and a 19th-century 20-pane hornless sash window to the right, although several panes have been replaced. The first floor has three tall 19th-century 24-pane sash windows, while the second floor features two 19th-century 3/6-pane sashes set in raked half-dormers.
The interior has not been inspected, but it is believed to contain panelling in the rear wing. The layout is likely to consist of two rooms with a central cross passage, along with a one-room wing added to the rear right.
