Description

Rose Cottage and the front garden railings are likely from the 18th century. The cottage is constructed of rendered and stuccoed stone rubble, with an asbestos slate roof and gable ends. A projecting wing to the rear has a gable end and a rendered brick chimney stack. The original layout comprised two rooms and a through passage, with a heated single-room wing added to the rear of the central passage.

The symmetrical front facade has two windows on each floor. The ground floor features two 12-pane horned sash windows, flanked by a central four-panel stable-type door with a fanlight containing margin glazing bars. A projecting stone rubble lean-to porch provides access. The first floor has two tall, half-gabled dormers, each containing a 12-pane horned sash window. The interior of the cottage has not been inspected.

The front garden is enclosed by 19th-century wrought iron railings, which have been partially replaced on the left side.
