Description

Brook Cottage is a house dating from the early 19th century, located in Middle Street, Port Isaac. It is constructed of rendered and painted stone rubble, with a rag slate roof featuring a gable end on the left and a hipped end on the right. Brick chimney stacks are present. The original plan was likely a single-depth, two-room layout with a cross passage, and a larger room on the left-hand side, although it may have been altered. The front elevation is asymmetrical and features a single window. The ground floor has an entrance on the left with a 20th-century partly glazed door and a small lean-to extension beneath a corrugated iron hood. To the right of the entrance are two 20th-century casement windows. Above are a 19th-century four-pane sash window. The rear elevation has a 20th-century door slightly left of centre, alongside 20th-century casement windows. The interior has been altered.
