Description
A mid-19th century house and shop, constructed of stone rubble with a slate roof, gable ends, and brick chimney stacks. The building has a double-depth plan, with the house entrance in the centre of the garden front and a shop occupying the rear room on the left. The garden front is regular, with three windows, and features brick segmental arches over the window openings. A 20th-century porch is in the centre ground floor, and a 20th-century door is in a window opening to the right. The ground floor left window and the first-floor windows retain their original hornless 12-pane sashes. A partly slate-hung lean-to extension is on the right-hand gable end. The rear elevation, facing the road, has a complete 19th-century shop front with a 6-pane shop window and a partly-glazed stable-type door to its right. The shop front features incised pilasters and a moulded cornice. A 19th-century 12-pane hornless sash is located to the right of the shop front, above the window. The interior has not been inspected.
