Description

This is a house and shop, likely dating from the early 19th century, with alterations made in the later 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed from stone rubble, with the ground floor rendered and the upper part slate-hung and painted. It has an asbestos slate roof with ridge tiles and gable ends, and brick chimney stacks. The original layout was a double-depth plan, with two small rooms at the front and rear. A one-room addition was built in the later 19th century on the right-hand side. A shop was inserted at ground floor in the central room in the late 19th century. The front of the building is asymmetrical, with three windows across. The first floor has three late 19th-century four-pane sash windows. The ground floor includes a 19th-century four-pane sash window to the right and left, and a central late 19th-century shop window with a panelled and glazed door and a plain fascia. The interior was not inspected.
