Description

59 Fore Street is a house and shop dating from the early to mid-19th century, with some 20th-century alterations. The building is constructed of stone rubble, and the first floor is covered with painted slate-hanging. It has a hipped roof made of slurried slate, complete with ridge tiles. The layout is a double depth plan, with a 20th-century shop inserted into the ground floor front rooms. The exterior features two storeys and a three-window front. On the first floor, there are two 19th-century 12-pane sash windows in exposed boxes on the left and one 20th-century window on the right. The ground floor has a 20th-century shop front that includes two glazed doors to the right. The interior has not been inspected but may still have some 19th-century features on the first floor.
