Description
Mermaid House and Stores is a house and shop dating from the mid-19th century. It features plastered walls, likely made of rubble, and has a hipped slate roof with brick stacks at either end, set in slightly from the eaves. The building has a double depth plan that is two rooms wide with a central stair hall.
The exterior is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical front with three windows, which are mid to late 19th century 12-pane sashes. The right side of the front is dominated by a double shop window, probably from the 19th century but altered in the 20th century, along with a glazed door. To the left of the shop window is a part-glazed door leading into the house, which has a 19th-century flat door hood above it. The interior has not been inspected.
