Description
Lindenau School is an 18th-century building located at No 37 on North Street. It is two storeys high with an attic and shares a continuous frontage with No 36, although it has a much higher ridge line. The school features a red tiled roof with two dormers that have segmental heads. There are two window bays, and an eaves cornice adorned with modillions. The building is constructed of red brick and has a two-storey bay projection on the left with three sash windows. All windows are set in wide frames with flat arches, rubbed voussoirs, and keystones above, and they retain their original glazing bars. Each window has shaped aprons below. The entrance features a good doorway with Doric columns and a pediment, with a door that has six fielded panels and a semi-circular fanlight with Gothic divisions. The buildings numbered 35 to 49 form a group with Lindenau School.
