Description
Fernleigh, located at No 40 on North Street, is an early 19th-century building that stands three storeys tall, with single-storey extensions on each side. The exterior features cleft flints set in a surround of sharp flints arranged edgewise, complemented by yellow brick dressings. A large cornice with modillions crowns the building. The entrance includes a porch supported by Doric columns, topped with a pediment and a semi-circular fanlight. The front door is a six-panelled design, with the upper four panels cut away and glazed. Fernleigh is part of a group with Nos 35 to 49, which are consecutive.
