Description
Regency House, located at No 9 Market Place, is an early 19th-century building that stands three storeys tall. The exterior is rendered and features a pantile roof with coped gable ends. It has two windows on the upper floors, which are hung sashes with glazing bars and modern shutters. Below these, there is a two-storey canted bay with hung sashes that also have glazing bars. The doorway is flanked by panelled pilasters and topped with a flat cornice that has a modern iron guard. The door itself consists of four panels and is situated beneath a rectangular fanlight, with panelled reveals. The building has a plinth. Regency House is part of a group that includes No 1, No 5, Nos 7 to 10 in succession, Nos 12 to 23 in succession, and No 23A, with No 5 being of local interest.
