Description
17 Market Place is a 18th-century building that stands two storeys tall. It has a rendered exterior with rusticated quoins and a pantile roof featuring stacks at the gable ends. The front includes a canted bay window that is two storeys high, with hung sash windows that have glazing bars. The first floor has one window and a canted bay. There is a passage entry on the left side of the ground floor. An early 19th-century Tuscan portico adorns the entrance, with an entablature that continues over the door and a rectangular bay window to the right. This building is part of a group that includes No 5, Nos 7 to 10 (consecutive), Nos 12 to 23 (consecutive), and No 23A, with No 5 being of local interest.
