Description
10 Market Place is an early 18th-century building that stands two storeys high, constructed of brick and rendered, topped with a Welsh slate roof and a brick chimney stack. The building has been restored and features two first-floor windows, which are hung sashes with glazing bars, set beneath painted rusticated lintels and wood cases. A two-storey bow with hung sashes and glazing bars is adorned with a moulded cornice.
On the ground floor, there are two windows with lintels and fluted keystones, flanked by two narrow modern windows that also have glazing bars. To the left, there is a doorcase with thin pilasters and a cornice, leading up five curved steps to a door that consists of five fielded panels and one glazed panel, topped by a radiating blocked fanlight. A passage entry is located to the right of the door.
This building is part of a group that includes No 1, No 5, Nos 7 to 10 in succession, Nos 12 to 23 in succession, and No 23A, with No 5 being of local interest.
