Description
Subdeanery House, located at No 54 on West Street, is an 18th-century building featuring a double hipped tiled roof and constructed of yellow brick. The house has a small dentilled cornice below the eaves and consists of three storeys and a basement. There is a band below the second-floor windows, and the façade includes four window bays with sash windows set in reveals under flat arches, complete with brick voussoirs and intact glazing bars. The doorway is similar to that of No 53, although the top four panels of the door have been cut away and replaced with glazing, and there is slightly different detailing in the pediment. Additionally, there is a semi-circular doorway at the western end with a flush-panelled door in reveals. Subdeanery House is part of a group with Nos 52 to 56.
