Description
No 29 on North Street is an 18th-century building that stands two storeys tall with an attic, featuring a higher frontage and ridge line compared to its neighbours, Nos 27 and 28. The tiled roof extends over both Nos 29 and 30, with a prominent central brick chimney serving both. There is one hipped dormer on No 29. The building has a coved cornice and displays one window and one blocked opening; the window is a sash type with a flat arch, although the glazing bars are missing. The exterior is constructed of red brick with alternating grey headers, and there is a stringcourse above the ground floor. A 20th-century bowed shop window with glazing bars is present. Access to the building is via a flight of three steps with an iron handrail leading to a door with six fielded panels, topped by a rectangular fanlight and a flat hood supported by curvilinear brackets. Nos 27 to 32, along with No 32A, form a cohesive group.
