Description

This is an early 19th-century shop and dwelling located in Wallingford Market Place. The building is constructed of ashlar stone with a Welsh slate hipped roof and is in a Neo-classical style. It is arranged over three storeys and has a two-window front. A modern glazed door leads to a recessed porch at the centre of the shop front. The front features incised pilaster strips on the first and second floors, positioned at the centre and each end. The first and second floors have 12-pane horned sash windows with plain surrounds and segmental stone heads with blind tympani. A flat stone band runs between the first and second floors. A cornice sits above the windows, with a plain parapet to the eaves. The ground floor has been altered in the 20th century.
