Description

This is a house, likely dating from the early 18th century, which is now used as a shop and dwelling. A later 18th-century range was added to the rear, and the front has a 20th-century shop front. The building is constructed of grey brick with red brick detailing, and has a mid-20th century plain-tile roof. It is two storeys high with an attic, and has a five-window front. A 20th-century glazed door is set within a recessed porch in the center of the shop front, flanked by decorative plasterwork in the Doric style. A two-panel part-glazed door with a rounded relieving arch is located to the right. The first floor has five 12-pane sash windows, each with a cambered brick head. A flat brick band runs along the eaves. The roof to the left of the building is higher than that to the right, with two sloping roof-lights on the left. The rear range is a three-storey, five-window block built of ashlar stone with a Welsh slate roof. It has regularly placed sash windows with stone architrave surrounds. The interior was not inspected.
