Description

This is an early 19th century shop and dwelling located on the east side of Wallingford Market Place. The building is three storeys high and has a symmetrical three-window front. The ground floor is faced with rusticated stone, and features a central pair of glazed double doors with a fanlight above, and arch-topped shop windows to either side. A six-panel door with overlight is located to the left. A decorative stone band runs between the ground and first floors. The first and second floors are faced with ashlar stone. The first floor has three 12-pane sash windows with stone architrave surrounds and rubbed keystones. A stone sill band is positioned between the first and second floors. The second floor mirrors the first, with three 6-pane sash windows, stone architrave surrounds, rubbed keystones, and incised sills. A plain stone cornice and parapet sits above the eaves. The interior remains unexamined.
