Description
Numbers 57 (Flint and Company) and 58 (Mary Brooks) are two shops with dwellings above, dating from the mid-17th century and featuring 20th-century alterations. The ground floor on the left is rendered, likely on brick, while the right side has tile, probably on brick as well. The first floor is rendered, likely on timber framing, and the building has an old plain-tile roof. It has two storeys and an attic, with a three-window range. The shop front on the left is from the 19th century and has been altered in the 20th century, featuring a 20th-century sash door. The shop front on the right is also from the 20th century and includes a glazed door at the center. The first floor has 16-pane unhorned sashes with wood architrave surrounds, except for a 16-pane horned sash on the right. There are two flat-roofed full dormers, and the interior is noted for its extensive beaming.
