Description
Numbers 1 (Crudgington's Delicatessen) and 2 (St. Mary's Fruiterers) are a house that has been converted into shops and dwellings. They date from the early 18th century and feature 20th-century shop fronts. The building has a red brick plinth with a moulded top, grey brick with red brick dressings, and an old plain-tile roof with a brick end stack on the right. It is three stories high and has a five-window range. The left and right sides each have a 20th-century shop front with a central glazed door. On the right side, there is also a four-panel part-glazed door with an overlight and a flat hood. The first and second floors have five 12-pane segmental-headed unhorned sashes with thick glazing bars, segmental brick heads, and painted keystones. The building features a rendered cornice and a plain parapet at the eaves. It is noted for having panelled rooms on the first floor.
