Description
The Fountain, located at 14 Market Place, is a house that has been converted into a shop and dwelling. It dates from the early 18th century and has undergone some alterations in the 20th century. The building is constructed of grey brick with red brick dressings and features an old plain-tile roof with a brick stack on the left side. It is three stories high and has a single-window range. The ground floor has a 20th-century shop front with a glazed door on the left. The first floor features a Venetian window with French windows in the center, flanked by unhorned sash windows on either side, all with glazing bars and a cambered rubbed brick head above the center window. The second floor also has a Venetian window, but with casements and a cambered red brick head in the center. The interior has not been inspected.
