Description
Hagenbachs Bakery is a house with a shop that dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and has a Welsh slate roof. The building stands three storeys high and features one bay by three bays. At the base, there is a plinth. The front elevation includes a wide shop front with a bowed window and an adjoining window to its left, which has replaced a door. These are flanked by three-quarter grooved columns and topped with a continuous frieze and cornice.
On the first floor, there is a 12-pane sash window set in a plain stone surround. The second floor features a six-pane sash window in a similar surround. The side front has a glazed door with an overlight, surrounded by grooved three-quarter columns, a frieze, and a cornice to the right. There is a central panelled door in a reeded surround with corner paterae and a cornice, and a 12-pane sash window to the left, all beneath a flat voussoired arch. Above this, there are three similar windows, and above those, three six-pane sashes below wedge lintels. The building is finished with a moulded stone cornice, end stacks, and a hipped roof.
