Description

This is a mid-18th century house and shop, altered in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed squared stone, with an ashlar finish, and has a graduated stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. A plinth and raised quoins are visible. The left side has an early 20th century shop front with a recessed half-glazed door, pilasters, frieze and cornice. To the right is a 20th century door flanked by 12-pane casement windows, all set in raised stone surrounds. The door has a blind semicircular recess above it, creating a Venetian window appearance. A stone band runs along the top of the semicircular section at first floor level. First-floor windows are 20th century casements in plain raised stone surrounds, with one being blind, and a continuous sill band. An eaves band and moulded stone cornice are present. The building has end stacks.
