Description

Alpha Cottage is a house dating from the mid to late 18th century, with alterations from the 19th century. A datestone reading "RL 1822" is visible. The house is constructed of coursed squared ironstone, with a steeply pitched thatched roof and renewed brick end stacks. The original layout comprised two units, with a single-storey extension added to the rear. The main façade is arranged with a three-window range. A 20th-century porch is centrally positioned, and flanked by canted bay windows with 20th-century windows. The first floor has two renewed wooden casement windows retaining their original wooden lintels, and a blocked central window also with a wooden lintel. Ironstone quoins are present. The interior has not been inspected.
