Description
Stone House is a house dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made around 1800. It is constructed of squared coursed ironstone and limestone, topped with an artificial stone slate roof and features brick stacks. The building has two storeys and three bays. The ground floor has three-light windows that feature early 19th-century stone lintels, with 20th-century wooden mullions and a transom. The first-floor windows are also three-light, with wooden lintels and 20th-century wooden casements. The left gable end is coped with kneelers. The entrance is located at the rear and has a plain stone surround from the 19th century, with a ribbed plank door. This entrance is flanked by 19th-century bay windows beneath a continuous timber and stone slate hood supported by wooden brackets. The interior has not been inspected.
