Description
North End House is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone and ironstone rubble, with squared quoins and an asbestos tile roof, along with rendered stacks. The building has a lobby-entry plan and stands two storeys high, with an attic and cellar, featuring three bays.
The doorway, located to the right of centre, has a wooden lintel and a 20th-century panelled door, which is sheltered by a 20th-century gabled timber porch. The left bay contains a three-light window with a wooden lintel and 20th-century mullions and transoms. To the left of the entrance is another three-light window with a wooden lintel and an old iron casement. There are three small 20th-century windows to the right of the entrance, with one- and two-lights, all having wooden lintels and casements. On the first floor, there are three-light windows, each with wooden lintels, while the central window features an old iron casement. The gable ends are coped.
On the left side, there is a two-light stone mullioned cellar window with a moulded stone surround. Inside, the house features stop-chamfered spine beams, two open fireplaces, and an original winder staircase.
