Description

Hill Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 17th century, which was remodelled around 1970. It is constructed from coursed limestone and ironstone rubble, topped with an artificial stone slate roof and features stone stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a total of four bays. The right bay is lower and has a separate roof, originally serving as the service wing.

A 20th-century stone porch spans the two right bays and includes a doorway with a wooden lintel and a six-panel door. To the right of the porch is a re-used 17th-century two-light stone mullioned window. The original entrance, located to the right of centre, has been filled in with a four-light stone mullioned window, which includes part of the original 17th-century work. There is also a two-light stone mullioned window in the left bay. All ground floor windows are topped with continuous stone hoods, while the first-floor windows are all two-light stone mullioned windows set in moulded frames without hoods.

A gabled half dormer is located in the second bay from the left, featuring a stone mullion and a square hood. The gable ends are coped and have kneelers. Although the interior was not inspected, it is reported to have been remodelled around 1970, during which the original arrangement of rooms was altered and the 17th-century staircase was removed.
