Description

This stone guide post, located on the west side of North Newington Road, dates back to 1686 and is classified as a Grade II listed structure. It has been partly renewed and features inscriptions that direct travelers to Banbury, Chipping Norton, London, and Stratford. The post is topped with a sundial and a ball finial, and it displays four carved, pointing fingers indicating the directions. The guide post stands approximately 3 meters high and was first provided by Mr. Fran. White in 1686.
