Description
Crooksbury is a pair of houses, built as one building, located on Wroxton Main Street and dated 1752, featuring a sundial. The left side, known as Crooksbury, is constructed of finely jointed coursed squared ironstone, while the right side is made of regular coursed ironstone rubble. The houses have a continuous thatched roof with brick ridge and end stacks. They are designed with a two-unit plan and stand two storeys high, presenting a four-window range in total.
The entrance to Crooksbury is approximately central, featuring a plank door with a gabled hood above. This entrance is flanked by two 20th-century casement windows that have been fitted into the original openings, with stone flat arches above. On the first floor, there are two similar windows.
No. 24 has a renewed plank door on the right and two renewed 20th-century casement windows on the left, both with hood lintels. The first floor also features two similar windows. The interiors of both houses include exposed beams.
