Description
The Old Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the 17th century, with later alterations made in the 18th and 20th centuries, as well as some additions. The building is constructed from coursed, squared ironstone and regular coursed ironstone rubble, topped with a thatched roof. It features rendered stone ridge and end stacks with brick shafts. The layout consists of a three-unit plan with a single-storey extension on the right, and the building stands two storeys high.
The façade facing the road has a three-window range. On the ground floor, there is a small stone-framed window with 20th-century glazing, a blocked window to the right, and a blocked door. The first floor has 20th-century windows set in the original openings, with chamfered wood lintels. The farmhouse occupies an important corner site at the junction of Church Street and Main Street. The interior has not been inspected.
