Description
Clematis Cottage is a house dating from the late 16th century to early 17th century, constructed of coursed ironstone rubble. It features a steeply pitched roof covered with 20th-century tiles and has renewed brick end stacks set on stone bases. The layout consists of a two-unit plan with an additional single-unit, two-storey section on the left. The building stands two storeys tall plus an attic and has a two-window range.
The central entrance includes a 20th-century door and a gabled porch, flanked by a three-light casement window and a three-light wood mullioned and transomed window, both with stop-chamfered wood lintels. On the first floor, there are two three-light metal casements with wood frames and wood lintels. The gabled full dormer features a two-light metal casement with a wood lintel. To the left, there is a plank door with a wood lintel and a garage door, along with a three-light 18th-century casement window and a renewed window, both also with wood lintels. The interior has not been inspected.
