Description
Windrift and Wingtree Cottage are part of a row of three cottages located on Wroxton Main Street, dating from the early 18th century with some 20th-century alterations. The cottages are constructed from coursed squared ironstone and feature a raised, steeply pitched thatched roof with brick ridge and end stacks. The row consists of a three-unit plan for No. 13 on the left and a two-unit plan for No. 14 and No. 15, all being single storey plus attic.
The overall arrangement includes a total of seven windows. No. 13 has a renewed door on the left with a wooden lintel, four renewed wooden casements to the right also with wooden lintels, and three half-dormers with renewed wooden casements. No. 14 features a plank door with a wooden lintel to the left, flanked by renewed three-light casements with wooden lintels, and two renewed half-dormers with wooden lintels. No. 15 has steps leading up to the entrance with a renewed door and wooden lintel, along with 20th-century windows on both the ground and attic floors. The interiors of the cottages include beams and inglenook fireplaces.
